Responsibilities
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges/viaducts works
- Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities related to bridges section
- Coordinate with Project design engineers for resolution of related issues
- Maintain daily diary and daily reports by inspectors
- Coordinate with contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources
- Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with project team members, clients, sub consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies
- Direct, assist and monitor performance of inspectors and surveyors
- Ensure safety goals are achieved and oversee implementation of safety procedures
- Prepare/Assist in preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports
- Check and measure performed work, record and assist Resident Engineer to display progress vs. programmed work
- Ensure correctness and completeness of 'as built' drawings
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years experience in design and construction supervision or operation and maintenance of bridges in Marine Environment
- Inspection experience in marine structures
- Adequate knowledge in European Code and American Codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Engineer (Roads and Bridges) to join our team! In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer in design review and construction related to structural works of the project.
What You'll Be Doing
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges/viaducts works and associated items.
- Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the bridges section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinate with Project design engineers for resolution of related issues.
- Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
- Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
- Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with project team members, clients, sub consultants, contractors and regulatory and environmental approval agencies.
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
- Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to his work.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
- Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Minimum 10 years experience in design and construction supervision or operation and maintenance of bridges in Marine Environment.
- Inspection experience in marine structures Steel Sheet Piles, Steel Casing, Piles, Piers structures, steel, timber and concrete pile structures, floating structures and waterfront facilities.
- Review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, and perform acceptance sampling and testing.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications through quality measures.
- Adequate knowledge in European Code and American Codes.
- Be fully computer literate and proficient in using technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
- Utilize project specific engineering and construction software effectively.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
