Structural Engineer II

Role and Project Context

Site and Construction Support

• Provide day-to-day structural engineering support on site, addressing construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
• Review structural works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, mock-ups, and samples.
• Identify structural issues, deviations, and non-conformances and support resolution with the Senior Structural Engineer.
• Coordinate structural activities with architectural, MEPF, façade, and fit-out works.
• Support snagging, inspections, and quality reviews of structural works and finishes.

Drawings and Technical Reviews

• Review structural shop drawings, material submittals, samples, and method statements against approved design intent and specifications.
• Provide technical comments to support approvals and construction progress.
• Verify approved shop drawings and materials are correctly implemented on site.
• Support preparation, review, and validation of structural as-built drawings and records.
• Assist with tracking structural submittals and closing review comments.

Queries, Quality, and Coordination

• Prepare and support responses to RFIs, technical queries, and structural site clarifications.
• Assist with investigation, reporting, and close-out of structural NCRs, observations, and quality issues.
• Maintain records of technical responses and site decisions in accordance with project procedures.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers on structural matters.
• Attend site coordination meetings and progress reviews as required.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to lessons learned related to structural detailing, constructability, and site execution.
• Support mentoring and technical guidance for junior engineers and site staff.
• Promote best practices in structural construction quality and execution.

Experience and Knowledge

• Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience in design, construction, or design-and-build environments.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables, including design drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
• Working knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical building-system interfaces.
• Proficiency in technical documentation, review workflows, and engineering coordination processes.
• Strong professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• A Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Professional or engineering certification or licensing is advantageous but not mandatory.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination tools.
• Understanding of design coordination, constructability, and design-to-construction workflows.
• Ability to manage technical logs, trackers, and document control systems within a Common Data Environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
