Junior Architectural Engineer Interior

Role Purpose

Work Setting

• The role is primarily site-focused and supports day-to-day construction activities and resolution of detailing and finishing issues.

Site and Construction Support

• Provide day-to-day interior design and fit-out support on site, including construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
• Review finishes, partitions, ceilings, joinery, and FF&E interfaces for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Identify site issues, detailing conflicts, and non-conformances and report them to the senior interior design architect.
• Coordinate interior works with architectural, structural, MEPF, façade, and specialist contractors.
• Support snagging, inspections, and quality checks of interior finishes and fit-out works.

Drafting and As-Built Support

• Prepare and update sketches, mark-ups, and simple interior drawings and details for joinery, finish transitions, and coordination fixes.
• Assist in producing redline drawings and as-built mark-ups based on site conditions.
• Provide hands-on AutoCAD and Revit drafting support when required to resolve site issues.
• Ensure issued sketches and drawings are clear, coordinated, and aligned with approved design intent.

Submittals and Technical Queries

• Review interior shop drawings, material submittals, finishes, samples, and method statements under supervision.
• Assist in preparing technical comments and tracking submittal status.
• Verify approved materials, finishes, and details are correctly implemented on site.
• Assist with RFIs, technical queries, site clarifications, NCRs, observations, and quality issue close-out.

Coordination and Improvement

• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers on interior and fit-out matters.
• Interface with architectural, structural, and MEPF disciplines for coordinated delivery.
• Attend coordination meetings, maintain technical records, and use document control systems and project workflows.
• Develop knowledge of interior detailing, materials, and fit-out construction practices and support lessons learned.

Industry and Experience

• Work in design-and-build projects with interior design and fit-out scope.
• Minimum 4-7 years of relevant experience in interior design or fit-out within construction or design-and-build environments.
• Experience supporting shop drawing reviews, material approvals, and site execution.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination and construction workflows.

Education and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Professional certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required for hands-on drafting support.
