About the Role
Parsons is seeking a Structural Design Engineer for underground projects. The role involves reviewing design documents, supporting lead engineers, and providing structural engineering support to multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
- Review project standards, specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements
- Review design build documents, drawings, calculations, operating manuals, and technical reports to ensure compliance with client requirements and project standards
- Review contractor submittals, including materials, construction methodologies, subcontractor prequalification documents, and other technical submissions
- Support the Lead Civil Engineer and Senior Structural Engineers in preparing, reviewing, and consolidating technical reports, investigations, root cause analyses, and engineering status reports
- Assist in maintaining project budgets, schedules, and compliance with the approved scope of work
- Provide structural engineering support to multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, MEP, and project controls disciplines
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of design and engineering activities
- Attend and witness inspections, testing, and acceptance activities as required
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to structural engineering matters
- Provide technical support to construction sites and assist in resolving design related issues
- Identify discrepancies, evaluate technical challenges, and recommend practical engineering solutions
- Participate in safety meetings and review installation demonstrations of proposed materials and construction methods
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering design and construction
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of major heavy civil or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and foundation design
- In depth knowledge of structural mechanics and structural engineering design practices
- Experience using structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, Revit, CAD, WALLAP, Oasys Slope, TEDDS, SuperSTRESS, FEM, or equivalent platforms
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering design software and industry best practices
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and coordination skills
- Experience in rail, metro, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects (desired)
- Knowledge of U.S., British, and European structural design standards and codes (desired)
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Codes and local regulatory requirements (desired)
- Experience using AutoCAD and related design software (desired)
