- Lead formulation of strategy and business development activities for Autonomous Maritime Platforms (AMP) initiatives.
- Cultivate key U.S. Government customers and industry partners.
- Develop and lead capture teams for new programs and business ventures.
- Manage allocated annual investment funds and lead development of long range strategic plans.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Build strong customer partnerships and represent GDMS to the customer community.
- Lead and manage the capture process for opportunities within the Navy UxV markets.
- Identify and recommend new business opportunities to meet growth goals.
- Assist in development of short and long range business forecasts, sales plans, and marketing plans.
- Participate in promotional activities and trade shows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 15 years of demonstrated leadership; or Master's plus 13 years
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance preferred; ability to obtain required
- U.S. citizenship required
- Experience in business development, program management, systems engineering, autonomous vehicles
- Knowledge of unmanned maritime vehicle technologies and government/industry participants
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to travel 40% 50%

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus minimum 15 years of demonstrated leadership; or Master's plus minimum 13 years.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance preferred; Top Secret or TS/SCI a major plus.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Responsibilities For This Position
- Lead strategy and business development for Autonomous Maritime Platforms (AMP) Business Segment of Unmanned Systems and Future Combatants (UFC) Business Area.
- Reports to GDMS UFC Business Development Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategy to grow market share in unmanned maritime systems market.
- Work with customers and industry partners, drawing on broader GD capabilities.
- Knowledge of UxV technologies and government, academic, and industry participants strongly preferred.
- Requires strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to grasp advanced technologies.
- Experience in business development, program management, systems engineering, autonomous vehicles, and government contracting desired.
- Proven experience with US Navy UxV and submarine communities preferred.
Additional Responsibilities
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Partners with AMP and FCMS Directors (P&L).
- Builds strong customer partnerships and represents GDMS to customer community.
- Advises Business Segment Directors and UFC Strategy and BD Director on growth strategies.
- Leads and manages capture process for Navy UxV opportunities.
- Identifies and recommends new business opportunities.
- Formulates strategies and plans to acquire new business.
- Assists in development of business forecasts, sales plans, and marketing plans.
- Performs administrative, analytical, and research activities.
- Assists in gathering competitor data and analyzing prices.
- Analyzes customer information, market size, penetration, practices, and trends.
- Exercises creative thinking to advance business performance.
Preferred Degree Types and Experience
- Bachelor's in technical field or equivalent plus 15 years relevant experience; or Master's plus 10 years.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Experience in business development, systems engineering, and government contracting strongly desired.
- Existing relationships with NAVSEA, NAVWAR, OPNAV, SECNAV, PEO USC, PEO SUBS, PAE RAS, DARPA, ONR, DIU, SCO, NUWC a significant plus.
Salary
- Target salary range: USD $262,670.00/Yr. USD $284,217.00/Yr.
