Responsibilities
- Assist Cook in daily routine operations and in preparation of every meals
- Perform duties in accordance with accepted standards for safe food handling and sanitation within work areas
- Ensure all food service equipment shall be properly cleaned after each use including the preparation area and drink dispensers
- Mess, Deck and Galley overheads and bulkheads shall be wiped down with a cleaning and disinfecting solution
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas & aware of all fire, safety and emergency procedures
- Assist in Cleaning, peeling, and cutting of all food items according to the company’s standard and assuring efficient food service
- Should ensure familiarity with Company HSE and Quality Policy
- Responsible for the proper cleaning and sanitary matters of his working area and/or as instructed by the Chief Officer/Captain
- Alert for signs of contamination or infestation by pests (insects, rodents, etc.) in Galley and Storerooms. Report such findings to the Master
- Generalist view of a Job that you have been assigned for – at times you will be ask to do above/beyond the scope of this role due to Operational requirements
- Work in compliance with HSE regulations
- Use any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer
- Tell the employer or supervisor about any known missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous
- Report any known workplace hazard or violation of the Act to the employer or supervisor
- Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the employer or by the regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 03 years of relevant experience in similar industries
- Technical School Certificate or an equivalent professional qualification or an equivalent professional experience
- Certificate / Membership: STCW Basic Training, Fire Fighting & Safety Training & other sea survival certification
