Role overview

Compensation

• The stated base salary range is INR 3,799,461 to INR 5,140,448 per year.
• Individual pay depends on work location, skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily engineering operations and delivery for a Core Engineering back-end team.
• Partner with Software Architects on system design for major initiatives.
• Solve complex foundational-system problems and support effective team contribution.
• Coordinate roadmaps, delivery commitments, project scope, and resource planning with stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, pair programming, and code reviews.
• Prioritize technical debt, modernization, engineering standards, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a Guild or Chapter Lead and advance practices across teams.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices and innovative engineering tools.

Required qualifications

• At least 8 years of software development experience focused on back-end or server-side engineering.
• At least 2 years leading a software development team as a Tech Lead or in a similar capacity.
• Strong Java and RESTful API experience.
• Experience with large established codebases, SaaS roadmaps, risk management, Agile delivery, mentoring, and project execution.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Technical qualifications

• Experience with Dropwizard or Spring Boot, with Dropwizard experience strongly preferred.
• Preferred experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Preferred experience with Azure DevOps or Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
