As a Staff System Applications Engineer, you will serve as a hardware system-level technical expert and customer-facing authority, driving the successful integration of ADI solutions in portable audio and class-d speaker amplifier signal chains, with a focus on smart amplifiers and power-aware system optimization for high-volume consumer products.
This role spans hardware, power, signal processing, and system optimization—translating complex customer requirements into high-performance, production-ready designs. You will combine domain expertise with the ability to operate across system boundaries, while influencing product direction through direct customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a trusted technical partner to key customers
Solve complex system-level challenges across hardware, firmware, and algorithms
Support customer evaluation, bring-up, validation, and production ramp
Drive system performance optimization, including tuning and algorithm integration
Support and define system architectures across audio signal chain, speaker path, and power integration
Deliver reference designs, validation strategies, and debug support
Influence product direction and roadmap through customer insights
Must Have Skills
Strong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience in consumer audio systems or related mixed-signal / embedded platforms
Proven success in a customer-facing engineering role
Working knowledge of audio or system performance fundamentals
Experience in one or more areas:
Analog/mixed-signal hardware
Acoustics or electro-acoustic systems
Power systems (including DC/DC)
Signal processing systems
Embedded or firmware-based systems
Ability to operate effectively across multiple technical domains with a system mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Previous work supporting high-volume consumer products
Experience with speaker protection algorithms, audio tuning and enhancement
Exposure to acoustic or electro-acoustic systems, measurements and tuning
Familiarity with audio DSP concepts
Mechanical design and prototyping experience
