Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for critically ill cardiac patients in CCU
- Continuously monitor ECG, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs
- Administer cardiac medications, infusions, and emergency drugs safely
- Manage patients with:
- Acute Coronary Syndrome / Myocardial infarction
- Heart failure
- Life-threatening arrhythmias
- Post-cardiac interventions and procedures
- Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies, including Code Blue situations
- Assist in advanced resuscitation and emergency procedures (CPR, defibrillation)
- Operate and manage critical care equipment (monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, ventilators)
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment, and recovery
- Maintain compliance with SKMC standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols
