Role Overview
The Hartford is seeking a Staff Engineer/AI-ML Engineer to help develop machine learning and generative AI capabilities.
The role combines model development, cloud deployment, software engineering, architecture, and MLOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Research and implement generative AI and machine learning algorithms, tools, and technologies.
- Design, develop, and maintain Models as a Service.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide thought leadership, and present technical concepts.
- Collaborate with data, business, cloud enablement, and architecture teams.
- Deploy models in AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments and promote MLOps best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Development experience using both AWS and Google Cloud Platform tools.
- Familiarity with SageMaker, Streamlit, web security, credentials, and API management tools.
- Experience building cloud web services, repeatable architectural patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Expert-level GitHub experience, including GitHub Actions.
- Strong object-oriented development experience using Python, Java, or C#.
- Familiarity with big data technologies, RDBMS platforms, and workflow automation tools.
- Experience with end-to-end model development and data pipeline solution architecture.
