Staff Accountant

Vontier is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative accounting professional to support Vontier’s corporate accounting team with bookkeeping, statutory audits, SOX compliance, and acting as a system administrator for accounting systems.

This role will be remote (based in Brazil) and reports to the corporate accounting team in the United States.

Key Responsibilities.

• Support month-end and year-end accounting close activities, including the preparation and posting of journal entries and timely completion of financial reporting deliverables.
• Support the monthly consolidation of financial results.
• Support statutory financial audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Serve as a system administrator for accounting platforms: manage user access/modification requests, import and maintain foreign exchange rates, open/close accounting periods, and support system configuration changes.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses to support close and audit processes.
• Perform monthly and quarterly controls as part of SOX compliance.
• Perform calculations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
• Assist with audit requests.
• Assist with ad-hoc finance and accounting projects.
• Drive process improvements and automation opportunities across corporate accounting to increase efficiency and accuracy.

WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications).

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: Ability to communicate verbally and written in English. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel – comfortable using PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS, data validation/conditional formatting and similar Excel formulas and configurations. Comfortable working in a highly decentralized environment and able to work independently. Values collaboration and flexibility in shifts in needs and works. Critical thinker with ability to appropriately prioritize quickly. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving. Continuous improvement mindset and driving those initiatives. SOX/controls experience and demonstrated ability to document controls. Comfortable learning new accounting systems. Applied experience with close cycle preferred.
