Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 10 years of proven UI/UX or product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped mobile applications.
- At least 5 years of mobile banking application design experience, ideally in MENA, covering onboarding, payments, or loans.
- Advanced Figma proficiency, including auto-layout, variants, component libraries, prototyping, and design tokens.
- Experience acting as the sole UI design lead for a product stream and collaborating effectively across functions.
- Arabic fluency and English proficiency are required.
- Hands-on experience with interviews, surveys, usability tests, and A/B tests, with the ability to translate findings into design decisions.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, iOS and Android guidelines, and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, estimation, and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript principles and design-to-development handoff practices.
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Skills and Domain Experience
- Mortgage, retail lending, and customer onboarding expertise, including eKYC, document verification, and credit checks, is preferred.
- Motion design, micro-interaction prototyping, design tokens, and DesignOps experience are preferred.
- Experience producing short educational or promotional product-release videos is preferred.
- Experience with GA4, Firebase, Mixpanel, or similar analytics and experimentation tools is preferred.
- Understanding of security, privacy, and regional compliance considerations in financial services is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead UI and product design for a mobile banking product stream.
- Design experiences covering customer onboarding, payments, and loans.
- Conduct user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and A/B tests.
- Translate research and analytics insights into design decisions.
- Create responsive designs aligned with iOS and Android guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Plan, estimate, and deliver design work within Agile/Scrum sprints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with developers.
- Maintain design-to-development handoff practices and support implementation.
- Apply design systems, component libraries, design tokens, and prototyping methods.
