Role Overview
Lead tooling engineering activities for Magna Seating structural and mechanisms product divisions across North America.
Support delivery of high-quality components on schedule and within tooling and piece-price targets.
Provide technical leadership for metal-forming tooling and the Center of Excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage tooling engineers, tooling timelines, trackers, databases, progress reports, and weekly KPIs.
- Lead tooling design, costing, sourcing, fabrication, engineering changes, and vendor coordination.
- Approve strip layouts, blank sizes, metal-forming tooling, gauges, and tooling validation documentation.
- Coordinate FMEA, PPAP timing, supplier audits, and vendor tooling buyoffs.
- Support production quality, assembly and weld tooling, maintenance improvements, and preventive maintenance.
- Mentor engineers and deploy tooling best practices across North American divisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent manufacturing or engineering education and experience, or technical college or certified apprenticeship background.
- Minimum five years of automotive manufacturing experience with metal fabrication, assembly processes, and related tooling.
