The Business Continuity team builds systems that help Venmo withstand and recover from infrastructure and regional failures.
Essential responsibilities
- Deliver solutions spanning design, implementation, testing, delivery, and operations.
- Advise management on project-level issues and guide junior engineers.
- Make technical decisions independently using internal conventions and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the scalability and reliability of Venmo's cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, document fixes, and implement preventive measures.
Business continuity work
- Design and operate infrastructure, tooling, and processes for disaster recovery, chaos engineering, incident game days, and backup and restore.
- Develop infrastructure and application configuration automation as code.
- Design and operate chaos engineering experiments to identify and remediate weaknesses.
