About the Role
Nova International General Contracting seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage pre- and post-contract cost activities for construction projects in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to understand project scope and commercial requirements
- Prepare detailed quantity take offs and cost estimates for tender submissions
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs and enhance competitiveness
- Manage project budgets, cost plans, and cost to complete forecasts
- Monitor project expenditures, material usage, and subcontractor performance to ensure cost efficiency
- Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow projections, and financial summaries for management review
- Conduct detailed measurements from drawings and site progress
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications to clients
- Review and certify subcontractor payment applications and invoices
- Identify variations and prepare comprehensive variation orders with supporting documentation
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor claims and change requests
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and obligations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a contracting company
- Proven track record managing QS functions for medium to large scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project execution, and commercial frameworks
- Experience in UAE/GCC contracting industry is a strong advantage
- Professional certifications such as RICS, MRICS, or FIDIC training are highly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of cost control, measurement, and contract administration
- Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Candy/CCS, Planswift) and MS Office
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and contractual documents

Job Description
- Pre Contract Activities: Review tender documents, prepare quantity take offs and cost estimates, support value engineering.
- Post Contract Cost Management: Manage budgets, monitor expenditures, prepare cost reports and cash flow projections.
- Measurement & Valuation: Conduct measurements, prepare payment applications, certify subcontractor payments.
- Variations, Claims & Change Management: Identify variations, prepare variation orders, negotiate claims, prepare EOT claims.
- Contract Administration: Ensure compliance, maintain documentation, support dispute resolution.
- Procurement & Subcontract Management: Assist in RFQs, evaluate quotations, finalize subcontract agreements.
- Leadership & Coordination: Mentor junior staff, coordinate with project teams, present commercial updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as RICS, MRICS, or FIDIC training are highly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a contracting company.
