Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise operation and maintenance of Gas Network and SNG Plant via PLC and SCADA
- Coordinate with utility service providers for uninterrupted SNG farm operation and ensure 24/7 emergency service
- Design and establish gas system operation guidelines and procedures
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance, obtain NOCs, permits, and approvals
- Carry out flow monitoring, safe system of work (PTW, Method Statement, TRA)
- Perform incident reporting and emergency response preparedness
- Plan and implement gas line patrolling and leak survey
- Supervise operation and maintenance of PE and steel valves
- Commission gas distribution network per Lusail guidelines
- Coordinate and manage LPG refilling activities with Woqod and O&M contractor
- Supervise O&M contractor for Lusail gas supply systems
- Prepare system monitoring reports and periodic O&M reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 7 years of relevant experience in O&M of city gas distribution systems
- Experience in continuous operation of SNG systems and gas networks
- Proficiency in English
- Knowledge of gas standards (IGEM, NFPA, BS)
- MMUP Qatar approved Engineering status preferred

Job Purpose
- To ensure gas shall not leak/damage/interrupt supply as per IGE/TD/3
- Oversee control room operations and field activities of gas network
Day to day Operations
- Oversee and supervise O&M of Gas Network and SNG Plant through PLC and SCADA
- Oversee O&M of Propane tanks, Air Compressors, Dryers, Generators, etc.
- Coordinate with utility service providers for uninterrupted SNG farm operation
- Independently handle city gas operations with contractors and customers
- Verify O&M documents handed over by Projects team
- Design and establish gas system operation guidelines and procedures
- Ensure safe O&M of SNG/LPG yard and network, obtain NOCs and permits
- Carry out flow monitoring and safe system of work (PTW, Method Statement, TRA)
- Perform incident reporting and emergency response preparedness
- Ensure equipment is tested, certified, calibrated, and maintained
- Develop equipment register with certification/calibration details
- Plan and implement gas line patrolling and leak survey
Additional Duties
- Ensure pressure/leak tests are conducted safely
- Maintain SNG/LPG yard and gas network orderly
- Carry out site inspections for civil and mechanical works
- Coordinate with developers for gas distribution network takeover
- Resolve technical difficulties
- Oversee safe takeover of SNG system and gas network
- Carry out inspection of SNG system and gas network
- Ensure proper PPM for network and system equipment
- Review third party work requests and issue NOC/PTW
- Monitor compliance and issue Cease and Desist if needed
- Carry out gas leak survey and routine maintenance of valves
- Identify hot spots and report for pipeline integrity
Liaison with Contractors and Authorities
- Coordinate and manage LPG refilling activities with Woqod and O&M contractor
- Supervise appointed O&M contractor for Lusail gas supply systems
- Coordinate gas related emergencies with O&M contractor
Team Supervision
- Organize and supervise work of assigned team
- Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues
Budgeting and Financial Performance
- Monitor financial performance versus budgets and report variances

- Provide inputs and implement policies and procedures for the team
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability
Reporting
- Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately
- Prepare system monitoring reports, periodic O&M reports, and Woqod specific reports
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental policies
- Ensure adherence to QHSE procedures and controls
