About the Role
As a Sr. Firmware Engineer at Nokia, you will contribute to developing advanced optical line modules for our next-generation Optical Engine, used in Long Haul, Metro, and Data Center Interconnects. You will design, implement, and test firmware while working alongside cross-functional teams, including optical, hardware, and manufacturing. Your solid foundation in embedded C/C++ and multithreaded systems will be applied to solving challenging technical problems within strict resource constraints. This role offers an opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and make meaningful contributions to innovative optical transport technology. We work within an Agile framework to help keep pace with continuously evolving technologies.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test code for next-generation Optical Engine firmware used in Long Haul, Metro, and Data Center Interconnects.
- Develop and maintain Firmware Requirement and Design documents.
- Collaborate with optical, hardware, FPGA, software, manufacturing, and test teams to support seamless integration.
- Support knowledge transfer to manufacturing processes.
- Debug and resolve customer issues effectively.
- Contribute to testing documentation to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
- Identify and suggest improvements to firmware development processes and methodologies.
