Design and Engineering Oversight
- Review and validate façade concepts for performance, constructability, cost efficiency, and compliance.
- Lead detailed engineering for unitized and stick curtain walls, structural glazing, skylights, atriums, aluminum cladding, composite panels, louvers, and shading devices.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, ASTM, AAMA, CWCT, EN, and BS standards.
- Account for wind loads, wind tunnel study integration, seismic movement, thermal and acoustic performance, and fire and life safety.
- Coordinate façade interfaces with structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines.
Technical Submittals
- Review and approve shop drawings, structural calculations, thermal analysis reports, and method statements.
- Ensure detailing addresses movement joints, tolerances, anchoring, waterproofing, drainage, thermal breaks, and condensation control.
- Verify compatibility of façade systems with adjacent materials and structural elements.
Materials and Testing
- Review material submittals for aluminum profiles, glass, gaskets, sealants, fixings, anchors, insulation, and fire stopping.
- Evaluate supplier certifications and warranties and assess durability, corrosion resistance, and UV performance.
