eBay is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team building scalable, reliable data solutions for real-time insights, analytics, experimentation, and personalized experiences.
The role combines people leadership, technical depth, and organizational influence in a highly scaled ecommerce environment.
What you will accomplish
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of data engineers in an inclusive, high-performing environment.
- Drive scalable real-time and batch data pipelines and platforms for product, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
- Define a roadmap for streaming, orchestration, transformation, observability, and cloud-native data platform development.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams to prioritize investments and deliver robust data solutions.
- Establish engineering practices for architecture, code quality, testing, documentation, operational readiness, data reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Own major initiatives from planning through production operations while improving platform reuse, maintainability, and delivery speed.
