About the Team and Role

The SEO team develops scalable solutions that improve discovery through search, social, and AI-enhanced answer engines.

The role owns products that improve discoverability on traditional search engines and AI search platforms.

The position combines technical SEO, AI search optimization, and product management.

The role partners with engineering, data science, creative, and content teams to develop scalable search systems.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Lead efforts to make eBay content discoverable, trustworthy, and answer-eligible for AI-powered search.
  • Define the SEO and AEO product roadmap and balance immediate SEO wins with long-term AI readiness.
  • Embed technical SEO and AEO guidelines into platform architecture and tooling.
  • Drive work on crawlability, indexing, rendering, site performance, internal linking, structured data, and entity modeling.
  • Define SEO and AEO benchmarks and success metrics, including rankings, traffic quality, rich-result coverage, and AI answer visibility.
  • Use search and analytics tools to prioritize initiatives and support decision-making.
  • Apply experimentation and analysis to validate impact and improve products.
  • Monitor search updates, AI search trends, structured data standards, competitive strategies, and platform risks.

What You Will Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in technical SEO, product management, or related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of search technologies, generative experiences, or LLM content optimization is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of SEO fundamentals, search engine algorithms, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Google Search Console, BigQuery, Google Colab, Screaming Frog, Lumar, SEMrush, SimilarWeb, Profound, or internal analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with structured data, schema.org, entity optimization, and machine-readable content frameworks.

Compensation

  • The stated base pay range is CAD 133,200 to CAD 177,800.
  • Total compensation may also include a target bonus, restricted stock units, and benefit programs.
