Sr. AI Engineer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production AI applications using Python and Azure.
• Build LLM applications with prompt engineering, model integrations, tool calling, and AI workflows.
• Design RAG solutions using embeddings, vector search, retrieval, knowledge grounding, and evaluation.
• Integrate applications with enterprise platforms, external APIs, databases, and Microsoft 365.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, data models, and application integrations.
• Develop agentic workflows using MCP and multi-agent patterns where appropriate.
• Partner with stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into production solutions.
• Apply practices for testing, security, observability, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong Python experience with backend and/or full-stack applications.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience with Azure-native services and enterprise integrations.
• Production experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and model integration.
• Hands-on RAG experience covering vector search, retrieval, knowledge grounding, and evaluation.
• Experience integrating external APIs, enterprise platforms, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Strong database, SQL, API, architecture, and modern software engineering knowledge.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States with meaningful Pacific Time overlap.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, or Azure AI Foundry.
• Experience with MCP, tool integrations, agentic workflows, or multi-agent architectures.
• Experience with vector databases, enterprise search, AI evaluation, observability, and monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, cloud-native deployment, consulting, or complex enterprise environments.

Compensation

• The position pays $70–80 per hour, subject to skills, experience, and qualifications.
• This role is not open to C2C.

Workplace

• Remote within the United States.
• Meaningful overlap with Pacific Time working hours is required.
• Occasional travel may be required based on client needs.
