Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and profitability for ongoing construction projects
- Oversee AP/AR processes including invoice verification, payment processing, and collection follow ups
- Review monthly payroll, allowances, overtime, and deductions in coordination with HR
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including preparation and filing of VAT returns
- Monitor daily cash flow, bank balances, and liquidity requirements
- Support the implementation and optimization of ERP/accounting systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
- At least 5 years in the construction/contracting industry
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, and financial controls
- High proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are highly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally)

Job Description
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Ensure accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are reconciled and up to date.
- Prepare management reports including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.
- Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and profitability for ongoing construction projects.
- Review project budgets, cost to complete reports, and financial forecasts.
- Coordinate with project managers to validate cost allocations, material consumption, and subcontractor payments.
- Ensure accurate tracking of WIP and project billing cycles.
- Oversee AP/AR processes including invoice verification, payment processing, and collection follow ups.
- Review supplier and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts.
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely settlement of dues and collection of receivables.
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
Payroll & Employee Cost Management
- Review monthly payroll, allowances, overtime, and deductions in coordination with HR.
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, WPS requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee cost allocations to projects.
Taxation, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including preparation and filing of VAT returns.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and provide required schedules and reports.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor daily cash flow, bank balances, and liquidity requirements.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and advise management on funding needs.
- Manage bank reconciliations, LC/LD processes, and financial facilities.
Systems, Processes & Team Support
- Support the implementation and optimization of ERP/accounting systems.
- Train and supervise junior accountants and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
- Develop and improve financial processes, documentation, and reporting templates.
- Assist management with financial analysis for decision making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in the construction/contracting industry.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control, and construction financial cycles.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem solving skills.
- High proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
- Strong organizational and supervisory abilities.
