Responsibilities
- Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
- Review and record revenue, IPCs, variations, and client billings in line with IFRS and contract terms
- Execute and support month end and year end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
- Control subcontractor and supplier accounting, including advances, retentions, and settlement tracking
- Prepare monthly project P&Ls, WIP schedules, and cost to complete reports with supporting analysis
- Manage project cost accounting, budget vs actuals, margin tracking, and cost to complete monitoring
- Enforce accounting controls and DoA compliance, support audit readiness at project and HQ level
- Support project based cash flow forecasting and management reporting
- Support preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities as required
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and reporting automation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
- 10+ years of experience in accounting for contracting companies
- Hands on experience with procurement cycles, subcontractors, and retentions
- Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel for project accounting
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS (WIP, revenue recognition)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple live projects under time and cost pressure

Job Description
- The Senior Accountant is responsible for accurate project and financial accounting, IFRS compliant reporting, and disciplined month end close within a live contracting environment.
- The role supports management reporting, cash flow visibility, and audit readiness while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and UAE regulatory requirements.
