Job Summary
The SQL Server Database Senior Developer supports the performance, optimization, and ongoing support of enterprise database systems in MUFG's Global Corporate and Investment Banking Technology organization.
This hands-on technical role focuses on reliable, scalable SQL databases supporting applications across the GCIB division.
Workplace
- The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and remotely one day per week.
- The hybrid schedule is four days on-site and one day remote each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server performance tuning and optimization and resolve bottlenecks, slow queries, blocking, and deadlocks.
- Optimize queries, stored procedures, batch jobs, execution plans, and indexing strategies.
- Monitor production database performance and resolve I/O, memory, and CPU bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with application teams and business partners on database access patterns and performance requirements.
- Coordinate database change testing and implementation under bank policies and standards.
- Manage technical workstreams and communicate status, risks, and dependencies using JIRA and Confluence.
- Provide guidance to junior developers and participate in production support and critical issue resolution.
