Role Overview

The Analyst will conduct periodic KYC reviews, new business onboarding, and ad hoc reviews for MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities bookings in the EMEA region.

The role covers financial institution, bank, corporate, and other existing or prospective client relationships.

The Analyst will perform customer due diligence, screening, regulatory classification, risk assessment, and enhanced due diligence within required SLAs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct KYC operations, CDD, and EDD for new and existing clients under applicable SOPs and operating manuals.
  • Research client information and review complex ownership and organizational documents.
  • Prepare and review KYC questionnaires and conduct client outreach by email or telephone.
  • Review screening results and escalate true adverse findings under bank policy.
  • Complete profiles within review schedules and support event-driven reviews and administrative triggers.
  • Perform identification, verification, bribery, corruption, PEP, adverse media, and sanctions checks.
  • Liaise with clients, sales, relationship managers, onshore teams, account officers, and KYC teams.
  • Escalate issues, resolve cases with management, support colleagues, and work on ad hoc projects.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong end-to-end KYC knowledge for low-, medium-, and high-risk clients is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a demanding onboarding environment are required.
  • Technical knowledge of financial institution, bank, corporate, trust, charity, joint venture, and special purpose vehicle structures is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline is marked essential in the source.
  • Two to four years of AML compliance and KYC experience is preferred, particularly in financial services and EDD for foreign financial institutions.
  • Experience reviewing Wolfsberg Questionnaires, ownership structures, and organizational documents is required.
  • Strong knowledge of AML and sanctions laws and regulations is required.
  • Multitasking, adaptability, attention to detail, research, critical thinking, and stakeholder relationship skills are required.
  • AML certifications, Actimize familiarity, and Microsoft Excel or Word knowledge are preferred or advantageous.

Work Environment
