The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is a major command of the United States Army headquartered at Fort Eustis, Virginia. It is charged with overseeing the training of Army forces and the development of operational doctrine. TRADOC recruits, trains, educates, develops, and builds the Army, establishes standards, drives improvement, and leads change to ensure the Army can deter, fight, and win on any battlefield now and into the future. The objective of the TRADOC Cloud & Ancillary Support Services (TCASS) contract is to support cloud migration planning services including Inventory (Users, Applications, Infrastructure, Security & Privacy, Services Management); Application Mapping and Assessment; Migration Planning, Migration Services, and Cloud Support Services, Operations & Maintenance (CSS-O&M). This effort also includes the benefit of serving as an integrated solution provider to support the TRADOC DCS G6 as it executes the Army?s directives for cloud migration, data center consolidation, data management, portfolio management, risk management framework, and information system continuous monitoring.

Proficient in management, availability, security, and performance monitoring and optimization of database solutions.

Design and implement fault-tolerant SQL Server solutions using highly availability patterns for scalability and stability in on-premises and Microsoft Azure

Design and deploy Microsoft SQL PaaS solutions in Microsoft Azure Government (MAG)

Implements Azure infrastructure solutions and may provide oversight and leadership on workstreams across domains.

Manages escalations, analyzes situations, and coordinates appropriate resources to resolve issues by following delivery practices, considering cost implications, and engaging in conversations with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsible for setting up High-Availability and Disaster Recovery

Plan and test high availability and disaster recovery.

Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need; ensure robust and full proof security of assets.

Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues.

Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues.

Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoring.

Synapse workload management and optimization

Setup SQL agent jobs, elastic jobs and runbook automation

Identify and setup alerts and logging in Azure.

Maintain databases ? Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation.

Conduct Performance tuning and optimization (Stored procedures, Views, Functions, Queries, database)

Implement operational automation using scripts.

Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases.

Design and create databases to support development initiatives.

Support release/code deployment activities

Experienced in assessing, identifying, and remediating findings resulting from DISA STIG assessments pertaining to the database technology stack

Experienced in addressing Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) related to database findings resulting from vulnerability scans and STIGs

10+ years of relevant experience (with a MA/MS)

12+ years of relevant experience (with a BA/BS)

Must hold current or obtain within 90 days of start date IAT Level II (Security+ or higher)

Applicable Computing Environment (CE) Certfication
