SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team on a 2 year fixed term full-time basis, based in our Archerfield office.

Reporting to the Enterprise Applications Platform Manager , you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, security and availability of Hastings Deering's Microsoft SQL environment. This role is responsible for the administration, optimisation and continuous improvement of SQL database platforms that support critical business applications across the organisation.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, project teams and external partners, you will provide expert technical guidance while helping to deliver reliable, scalable and high-performing database solutions that support business outcomes.

Administer, maintain and optimise Microsoft SQL Server environments to ensure performance, reliability and high availability.

Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues and perform performance tuning.

Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

Support projects with database design, implementation, migration and integration activities.

Ensure data security, integrity, governance and best-practice database management.

Provide Level 3 support and manage external vendors where required.

Conduct database testing and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify optimisation opportunities and support enterprise architecture and platform governance.
