Responsibilities
- Oversee construction projects from conception to completion (including commissioning)
- Ensure completion of EWEC's contractual commitments under PWPA agreements
- Monitor day to day construction activities for compliance with project specification, scope, and schedule
- Monitor compliance with construction and safety regulations in coordination with Legal and Regulatory
- Identify construction risks, determine mitigation plans, and escalate to Construction Director
- Review contractors' baseline schedule vs actual progress and highlight schedule risks
- Monitor construction productivity and performance, investigate unsatisfactory performance
- Review weekly and monthly reports on contract status and report to Asset Management team
- Create and maintain critical project documents including risk matrices, schedules, dashboards
- Coordinate with System Operator and TAQA Transmission for project interfaces
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in infrastructure construction
- At least 1 year in a project engineer position
- Experience in diverse/multicultural business industry
- Experience in multi national company
- Experience in energy and utility sector

Role Summary
- The Specialist Project Monitoring Engineer monitors projects under construction for compliance with PWPA requirements, codes, best practices, and HSQE policies.
- The role ensures timely completion and provides feedback for directorate improvement.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee construction projects from conception to completion (i.e. commissioning)
- Ensure completion of EWEC’s contractual commitments under PWPA agreements
- Oversee day to day construction activities in compliance with project specification, scope, and schedule
- Monitor compliance with construction and safety regulations in close coordination with Legal and Regulatory
- Ensure adherence to construction standards and techniques
- Document all changes to project specifications, scope, and schedule
- Identify construction risks, determine mitigation plans, and raise risks to Construction Director
- Review contractors' baseline schedule vs actual progress and highlight schedule risks
- Monitor construction productivity and performance, investigate unsatisfactory performance
- Review weekly and monthly reports on contract status and report to Asset Management team
- Create and maintain critical project documents including risk matrices, schedules, dashboards
- Coordinate with System Operator and TAQA Transmission for project interfaces
Standard Responsibilities
- Contribute to development and implementation of directorate strategy, policies, and procedures
- Implement all relevant department policies and procedures
- Develop opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes
- Promote and ensure adherence to EWEC values
- Ensure construction reports are prepared accurately and timely
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in infrastructure construction
- At least 1 year in a project engineer position
- Preferably in diverse/multicultural business industry, multi national company, energy and utility sector
