EWEC is seeking a Data Center Engineer to manage on-premises and cloud systems, OT environments, and data center infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. The role involves designing, installing, and maintaining servers, storage, and backup systems.

Responsibilities
- Define and implement cloud strategy using a comprehensive view aligned with EWEC requirements
- Manage on premise IT/OT systems and cloud infrastructure architecture, installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Design, plan, execute, and support cloud infrastructure services and hybrid environments
- Operate, monitor, and maintain data center infrastructure including servers, storage, backup systems, racks, and monitoring tools
- Ensure high availability (HA) of systems and services across cloud and on prem environments
- Support disaster recovery (DR) readiness, including planning, execution, testing, and documentation of results
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities across data center and infrastructure systems to minimize downtime
- Perform system upgrades, patching, migrations, installations, and decommissioning of infrastructure components
- Manage capacity planning across cloud and data center environments, ensuring scalability and optimal resource utilization
- Establish and monitor performance metrics, KPIs, SLAs, and system health indicators, ensuring compliance and reporting
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence
- Manage and support incident, problem, and change management processes in line with ITIL practices and ISO 20000
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in data centre operations or engineering
- Hands on experience with server, storage, backup, and virtualization systems
- Proven experience in managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or equivalent)
- Experience in IT service management (incident, problem, change management)
- Relevant certifications desirable (e.g., Data Center Specialist, CDCP, VCP, MCSE, ITIL Foundation)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect (Preferred)

Role Overview
- The Data Center Engineer which will take care of System & Cloud role is responsible for defining and implementing the cloud strategy using a comprehensive view, ensuring it fulfils EWEC requirements. The role includes managing on premises and cloud systems, Operational Technology (OT) environments,

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
Experience
- Hands on experience with server, storage, backup, and virtualization systems.
- Exposure to both enterprise IT and OT environments is an advantage.
- Strong IT infrastructure experience across cloud and/or hybrid environments with minimum 4+ years of experience in data centre operations or engineering
- Experience in one or more domains: cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture, networking, system administration, or IT operations.
- Proven experience in managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or equivalent).
- Experience in IT service management (incident, problem, change management).
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
