Role Overview
The Specialist Project Engineer leads PMC engineering activities and contractor oversight during the engineering and procurement phases of a major project.
The role provides technical leadership, project coordination, governance, interface management, and performance accountability.
Responsibilities
- Manage work allocation, supervision, competence, resourcing, and performance of the PMC Engineering group.
- Lead engineering procedures, systems, design reviews, vendor document processing, and owner design approvals.
- Coordinate Piping, Mechanical, Structural, E&I, and specialist disciplines and manage project interfaces.
- Lead the project team and contractor to achieve schedule, cost, quality, safety, and HSE requirements.
- Coordinate customers, owners, contractors, government bodies, existing facilities, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical opinions, recovery plans, risk mitigation, bid evaluations, clarifications, and evaluation reports.
- Conduct site visits, support succession planning, assess competence, and provide personnel development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant oil and gas or petrochemical industry experience.
- At least 5 years in a similar position on mega oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
- FEED, EPC, PMC, offshore, and upstream project experience is required.
- ADNOC experience is required.
Project Environment
- The role includes site visits and experience working in offshore projects and multicultural, multidisciplinary technical environments.
