Role overview
The Specialist Project Engineer leads PMC engineering activities and contractor oversight during the engineering and procurement phases of a project.
The role provides technical and project leadership across multidisciplinary teams, project governance, interfaces, and delivery performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage work allocation and supervision for the PMC engineering group and oversee contractor execution.
- Develop engineering processes, procedures, systems, competence assessments, and performance practices.
- Coordinate design reviews, vendor document processing, owner approvals, and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
- Provide PMC advice on risks, recovery plans, technical issues, project progress, and stakeholder requirements.
- Lead project team organization, delegation, meetings, objectives, stakeholder coordination, and interface resolution.
- Ensure performance, cost, quality, HSE, governance, and contract requirements are achieved.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations, prepare technical evaluation reports, and issue bid technical clarifications.
- Support succession planning, personnel development, site safety leadership, and field-initiated engineering changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university.
- At least 15 years of relevant oil and gas or petrochemical experience.
- At least 5 years in a similar position on mega oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
- FEED and EPC experience, including experience in PMC roles.
- Experience in offshore and upstream projects, including previous offshore project work.
- ADNOC experience.
