Job Overview
- The Specialist Physician shares responsibility with Consultant Physician for delivering high quality, evidence based and patient centered care.
Clinical Duties
- Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice.
- Assist Consultant Physician in supervising junior medical staff.
- Lead ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients regularly.
- Accurately document all relevant clinical information.
- Review results of investigations and modify treatment as required.
- Liaise with other medical specialties and support services.
- Participate in multi disciplinary meetings.
- Ensure preparation of patients for procedures including informed consent.
- Accept clinically appropriate referrals.
- Participate in on call coverage including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications
- Medical degree and relevant specialization.
- Licensure and certification as per regulatory requirements.
- Experience in supervising junior medical staff.
