About the Role
Astra ProMed is hiring a Specialist Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Physician for a leading healthcare provider in Sharjah, UAE. The role involves providing expert critical care to adult patients, performing procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit
- Provide comprehensive critical care for patients with sepsis, acute respiratory failure, multi organ dysfunction, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, trauma, and post operative conditions
- Perform and supervise critical care procedures including endotracheal intubation, central line insertion, mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, bedside ultrasound, and ACLS
- Lead rapid response and resuscitation efforts for critically ill patients
- Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other specialists
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical governance standards
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and Continuing Medical Education (CME)
- Mentor junior physicians and contribute to departmental education and training
Requirements
- MBBS/MD or equivalent medical qualification
- Board Certification, Fellowship, Arab Board, or equivalent recognized Specialist qualification in Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with ICU experience
- Minimum 3 5 years of post specialization experience in an Intensive Care Unit
- Eligibility for or possession of the relevant UAE medical license to practice in Sharjah
- Strong expertise in critical care medicine, ventilator management, invasive procedures, and emergency resuscitation
- Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision making skills
- Commitment to delivering evidence based, patient centered critical care
- Experience working in internationally accredited tertiary care hospitals (preferred)
- UAE or GCC experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Additional certifications such as FCCS, EDIC, FCCM, or ECMO training are an advantage

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Provide comprehensive critical care for patients with: Sepsis and septic shock; Acute respiratory failure; Multi organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS); Cardiac emergencies; Neurological emergencies; Trauma and post operative critical care; Acute renal failure and metabolic emergencies.
- Perform and supervise critical care procedures, including: Endotracheal intubation and airway management; Central venous and arterial line insertion; Mechanical ventilation management; Hemodynamic monitoring; Bedside ultrasound (where credentialed); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Lead rapid response and resuscitation efforts for critically ill patients.
- Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, internists, cardiologists, nephrologists, and other specialists.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and develop individualized treatment plans.
