Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive professional and ethical quality clinical services to patients

- Perform endocrinal procedures dynamic hormonal test in appropriate patients
- Provide consultation/referral services to inpatient services
- Participate in quality assurance activities such as mortality and morbidity conference, peer review, audit

- Specialist qualification in Endocrinology
- Experience in evaluating and treating patients with hormonal diseases
- Ability to perform dynamic hormonal tests
- Knowledge of clinical governance and quality management standards

Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive professional and ethical quality clinical services to patients in an effective and efficient manner
- Monitor and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance and quality management standards
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Ensure excellence in medical practice is maintained by focusing on continuous professional development
- Maintain integrity in professional services by executing clinical services in an ethical and responsible manner
- Perform the professional duties of an endocrinologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges
- Perform duties in the Endocrinology Clinic, evaluating patients with hormonal diseases
- Provides after working hours on call emergency coverage for endocrinology emergencies
- Perform endocrinal procedures dynamic hormonal test in appropriate patient
- Provide consultation/referral services to the inpatient services in his area of expertise
- Work with the patients throughout the entire process starting from consultation to treatment plan
Additional Duties
- Provides supervision and education to the staff nurses, patients and technicians
- Participates and contributes to all the quality assurance activities of the service
- Orders diagnostic laboratory studies and X ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy
- Participates in and contributes to in service activities such as lectures, conferences and rounds
- Participates in the monthly staff meetings
- Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care
- Performs other miscellaneous related duties as required by the HOD
Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems
- Comply with reasonable OSH instructions, policies and safe working procedures
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety
- Assist with the preparation of risk assessments
- Report OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycling of waste as much as possible
- Attend all OSH Trainings, awareness programs and mock drills
- Participates in the OSHMS audits, inspections, ensuring standards are maintained
Prevention and Control of Infection (PCI)
- PCI is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are required to read and implement the NMC PCI Policy and Strategy
- The strictest hand hygiene, 5 moments of hand hygiene, bare below the elbows and environmental care, will be expected of all staff
