- Provide on call emergency anesthesia services
Requirements
- Medical degree and specialization in Anaesthesia
- Experience in administering anesthesia for routine and emergency surgeries
- Ability to manage critically ill ventilated ICU patients
- Knowledge of controlled drug documentation

Overview
- Administers Anesthesia to patients during Surgical and other medical procedures
- Responsible for certain areas of administration under the general direction of the Chief Anesthesiologist
Responsibilities
- To conduct anesthesia for routine and emergency surgical patients
- To conduct assessment & re assessment for all patients in the OPD, on admission, and prior to any procedure
- Provides anesthesia with the full range of anesthetic agents
- Provides technical advice and guidance to nursing staff, other specialists and registrars
- Interviews patients scheduled for surgery to assess and develop an anesthesia care plan
- Manage patients during sedation and during the period of actual recovery from sedation
- Sees patients post operatively to evaluate recovery from anesthesia
- Supervises and maintains appropriate documentation on the controlled drugs
- Organize a suitable call schedule to provide a satisfactory anesthetic service
- Organize and direct Q.I. activities of this division
- Assists Chief Anesthesiologist in supervising the day to day anesthetic work
- Stands on call duty as assigned by Chief Anesthesiologist
Teaching
- Takes active part in the teaching of junior anesthesiologists and other nursing staff
- Conducts labour analgesia
- Actively participate in CPR
