Responsibilities
- Organize and perform ultra sonographic examinations as directed by the supervising Radiologist
- Obtain and record patient history, review medical information, and enter data into ultrasound equipment
- Apply independent judgment to capture appropriate anatomical and pathological conditions
- Review images, synthesize results, and relay preliminary findings to Radiologist or Physician
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform quality control, and ensure optimal functioning
- Perform general radiography, bone mineral densitometry, mammography, and fluoroscopy as required
- Assess justification for ionizing radiation using ALARA principle
- Provide patient care appropriate to age and condition, including neonate to geriatric

- BLS certification

Role Overview
- Organize and perform ultra sonographic examinations in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by the supervising Radiologist.
- Document high quality images and practice good patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Check patients identity and examinations required ensuring all examinations are justified.
- Prepare exam room and select appropriate ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
- Obtain and record patient history including prior test results. Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
- Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques.
- Apply independent judgment during the sonography examination to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are captured.
- Review examination images, synthesize results, prepare preliminary findings and relay to Radiologist or Physician.
- Ensure sonography examination results meet facility standards for Quality Assurance before release.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies. Perform quality control procedures.
- Understand and practice proper use of all equipment.
- Ensure safety and comfort of patient throughout examination.
Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake and perform General Radiography, Bone Mineral Densitometry, Mammography, and Fluoroscopy as required.
- Assess justification for ionizing radiation exposure using ALARA principle.
- Get pregnancy questionnaire consent from female patients of reproductive age.
- Give instructions to patients for examinations and modify communication according to patient's abilities.
- Observe and maintain contact with patients during waiting, examination, and post examination stay.
- Assist in emergency treatment of patients if necessary. Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS).
Qualifications
- Experience in sonography and ultrasound examinations.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to perform general radiography, bone mineral densitometry, mammography, and fluoroscopy.
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols.
