Job Summary
Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications.
Work with developers, project managers, and other team members to identify defects and validate new features.
Ensure applications meet business and technical requirements through effective testing and troubleshooting.
Software Testing
- Create and execute test cases, scenarios, and plans based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and system testing.
- Test features, enhancements, and bug fixes across environments and identify edge cases.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing where required.
API and Database Testing
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Validate API requests, responses, status codes, authentication, and data.
- Perform basic database testing using MySQL or other relational databases.
- Write SQL queries to verify data accuracy and application functionality.
Defect Management
- Identify, document, and track defects using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Provide bug reports with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, and supporting information.
- Work with developers to investigate and resolve issues, perform regression testing, and verify fixes.
QA Process and Collaboration
- Maintain test cases, test scenarios, test data, and testing documentation.
- Participate in requirement reviews, identify quality risks, and prepare testing status reports.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities and communicate testing results, defects, risks, and progress.
- Support developers in reproducing and troubleshooting issues.
Continuous Learning
- Stay current with QA tools, testing techniques, and industry best practices.
- Learn and contribute to automated testing where applicable.
- Continuously improve testing processes and overall product quality.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, manual testing, testing methodologies, and Agile/Scrum.
- Experience with Postman or similar API-testing tools and SQL/database testing.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Basic automation-testing knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively and learn new tools quickly.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 6,000 to AED 8,000 per month.
Workplace
- Work location is in person.
