About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead development teams working on Treasury Technology, particularly Liquidity applications.

Leadership and Delivery

  • Manage, coach, and develop experienced engineers and engineering managers.
  • Manage people and financial resources to meet commitments and strategic technology objectives.
  • Hire talent, build a leadership bench and succession plans, and conduct performance management.
  • Represent the product technically in cross-team planning and collaborative efforts.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to banking platform architecture and non-functional requirements for each release.
  • Partner with architects and engineers on cloud readiness, modernization, data strategy, and migration paths.
  • Drive resolution of code, build, deployment, security, and technology roadblocks.
  • Guide design, conduct peer reviews, and ensure security, stability, scalability, and risk mitigation.
  • Influence product roadmaps, requirements, priorities, and innovative solutions with product leaders.
  • Interact with third-party vendors and technology service providers.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Enterprise-scale software or data engineering experience and 7+ years leading engineering teams or managers are desired.
  • Financial-services platform delivery, cross-functional leadership, and matrixed-organization experience are desired.
  • Experience with data technologies, platforms, programming, cloud, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, governance, DevOps, or infrastructure as code is desired.

  • Explain complex technical and data concepts to senior business and risk leaders.
  • Influence and lead in a large, matrixed organization with strong engineering discipline and operational stability.
  • Lead effectively during ambiguity, regulatory focus, and high-visibility initiatives.
  • Maintain a risk-aware mindset and demonstrate ownership, transparency, continuous learning, humility, and respect.
