Client Server is recruiting a Software Engineer for a hedge fund working with complex market data.
The engineer will help build a modern medallion architecture data platform in a small, collaborative team.
The role spans data engineering, distributed systems, infrastructure, and frontend, with substantial ownership and impact.
Your role
- Design and build data platform components using Python.
- Develop and optimize ETL pipelines, data lakes, lakehouses, and distributed systems.
- Improve infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD practices.
- Maintain and evolve microservices, ETL systems, and Excel add-ins.
- Support platform operations and ensure reliability and performance.
Location and working pattern
- The role is based in the Central London office on a full-time, Monday-to-Friday basis.
About you
- Have strong backend development experience with Python.
- Have experience working with financial or market data.
- Have designed and operated data-intensive and distributed systems.
- Have strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases.
- Are willing to take ownership across the full development lifecycle.
- Are collaborative and pragmatic with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Hold a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline; MSc study is indicated as likely.
Compensation
- The package includes a salary up to £150k, a bonus, and a pension.
