The Python Developer will join a growing team building a modern medallion architecture data platform.
The hands-on role spans data engineering, distributed systems, infrastructure, and frontend work in a small collaborative team.
Your role
- Design and build data platform components using Python.
- Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, data lakes, lakehouses, and distributed systems.
- Improve infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD practices.
- Maintain and evolve microservices, ETL systems, and Excel add-ins.
- Support platform operations to ensure reliability and performance.
Location and work arrangement
- The role is based in the Central London office on a full-time basis.
- The schedule is Monday to Friday.
About you
- Have strong backend development experience with Python.
- Have experience working with financial or market data.
- Have experience designing and operating data-intensive and distributed systems.
- Have strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases.
- Be willing to take ownership and work across the full development lifecycle.
- Be collaborative and pragmatic with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Have achieved a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline; MSc-level study is likely.
