The engineer is expected to work independently, deliver high-quality solutions, and collaborate effectively across teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reliable, scalable, and maintainable enterprise applications that support Apple-scale volumes.
- Define solutions and estimate work by understanding requirements and engaging with team members, multifunctional teams, and project managers.
- Collaborate with, mentor, and influence colleagues within the team and across Apple.
- Deliver solutions for rapidly evolving products on schedule.
- Review technical designs and perform code reviews.
Minimum qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience designing and developing scalable enterprise-grade solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with architecture, design, and development.
- Experience implementing cloud-based distributed systems and APIs such as REST, RPC, or GraphQL.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to CI/CD tools and containerized applications on cloud-based Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Java web frameworks and unit testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with tooling languages and distributed orchestration or computing systems.
- Basic understanding of JVM internals and networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience architecting distributed systems and concurrent programming.
- Experience designing web application ecosystems and API platforms.
- Experience delivering large-scale, low-latency web applications with caching, database schema design, and data access technologies.
- Understanding of security concepts for reliable and safe distributed applications.
