Role overview
Project44 is seeking a Software Engineer - Backend for its engineering team.
The role involves designing, building, and implementing integrations with global logistics networks.
The team works in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key accountabilities
- Build integrations for connected carriers and customers.
- Manage integrations throughout their lifecycle.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the team-owned supply chain visibility platform.
- Build systems in a multi-cloud environment using AWS and GCP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems.
- Share ownership of development, operations, and testing.
- Participate in team on-call responsibilities for owned systems.
- Improve on-call operations through tools, monitoring, and automation.
Required qualifications
- 2-5 years of professional experience building large-scale, real-time or near-real-time cloud systems.
- Strong programming and debugging skills with proficiency in Java.
- Experience with multi-cloud systems, including AWS and GCP.
- Experience with scalable Java-based microservices.
- Experience with databases, preferably PostgreSQL or another SQL-based database.
- Experience with event stores and stream processing using Kafka or Kinesis.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Desirable experience
- Experience investigating large and complex codebases.
- Experience creating REST APIs or web services; OpenAPI/Swagger is a plus.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with DynamoDB, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
- An analytical approach to problem solving and strong ownership.
In-office commitment
- The position requires working in the office three days each week.
