About the Role

Responsibilities
- Hire, motivate, mentor, and grow a high performing engineering team, providing them with appropriate opportunities to succeed in their career objectives
- Collaborate with cross functional teams: Work effectively with product managers and software engineers on other Commerce Platform teams to ensure the successful delivery of features
- Ensure timely execution of key organizational goals and customer launches by removing blockers and reducing execution risks
- Work closely with the leadership team to provide input on OP, roadmaps, and strategic discussions
- Develop the long term strategy for your programs and translate that into an achievable road map/action plan
- Be deeply involved with engineers to architect and develop the best technical designs and approaches
- Build operational excellence to reduce lead times and maintain the operations of critical services
- Manage the day to day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Clearly communicate technical decisions and progress to both technical and non technical audiences
- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: CAD 171,400.00 CAD 286,200.00 annually.
- Total compensation may include sign on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
- Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, RRSP, DPSP, paid time off.
