Role Overview
This is a remote contract software engineering role supporting a client of Hired.
The work focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable and secure software solutions with cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software system architecture and implementation.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Troubleshoot complex issues affecting reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders on scope and deliverables.
- Optimize codebases for efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to write clean, modular, and well-documented code.
- Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases and distributed systems.
Work Arrangement
- The role is remote and can be performed from anywhere.
Compensation
- The contract pays $50 to $100 per hour.
