About the Role

- Architect and evolve systems spanning Merchant Management, POS, and eCommerce acceptance
- Own technical architectural direction and design decisions across multiple engineering squads
- Lead and mentor a pod of engineers, owning design quality and delivery accountability
- Work directly with Product Owners to translate product intent and regulatory requirements into system designs
- Define integration architecture across card schemes, payment processor, and internal switching layers
- Design REST/JSON APIs with emphasis on idempotency, fault tolerance, and exactly once semantics
- Drive event driven flows using RabbitMQ for transaction lifecycle events
- Design Redis backed patterns for distributed caching, idempotency key management, rate limiting
- Use AI coding assistants like Claude Code for architecture reviews, code generation, and automation
Requirements
- Deep expertise in payment systems, including merchant acquiring, core payment processing, card schemes, switching, clearing, and settlement
- Strong experience with Java microservices stack
- Experience with REST/JSON API design, idempotency, fault tolerance
- Experience with event driven architecture using RabbitMQ or similar
- Experience with Redis for distributed caching, idempotency, rate limiting
- Experience with ISO 8583 message design and RPC frameworks like Dubbo
- Ability to lead and mentor engineers, own design quality and delivery accountability
- Experience with AI augmented engineering tools like Claude Code

About The Role
- We are at a critical juncture — building and scaling next generation payment systems across merchant acquiring and core payment processing, powering real time transaction flows at production scale.
- You will serve as the technical architectural bridge between the Chief Architect and engineering execution.
What You'll Do
- Architect and evolve systems spanning Merchant Management, POS, and eCommerce acceptance.
- Own Technical architectural direction and design decisions across multiple engineering squads simultaneously.
- Lead and mentor a pod of engineers — owning design quality and delivery accountability.
- Work directly with Product Owners to translate product intent and regulatory requirements into technically sound, scalable, and auditable system designs.
- Define the integration architecture across card schemes, payment processor, and internal switching layers — setting the technical standards for payment integration including ISO 8583 message design, inter service communication patterns using Dubbo or a comparable RPC framework, and how the acquiring
