About the Role

PureCS is seeking an experienced SOC L2 Engineer for cybersecurity operations supporting national-scale digital health platforms.

The role provides advanced alert investigation, incident response, threat hunting, detection tuning, and SOC automation support.

The engineer acts as a technical escalation point for L1 analysts and helps improve monitoring coverage and detection maturity.

Location and Schedule

  • The listed location is Dubai, UAE, with a stated future move to Abu Dhabi.
  • The employment type is full-time with rotational 24x7 shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to alerts across SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, firewall, WAF, email security, DLP, and cloud platforms.
  • Perform incident triage, containment, escalation, and root-cause analysis within defined SLAs.
  • Conduct threat hunting for malware, phishing, credential compromise, privilege escalation, lateral movement, persistence, and data exfiltration.
  • Develop and tune SIEM correlation rules, detection use cases, and hunting queries.
  • Analyze suspicious emails, files, URLs, processes, and network activity using EDR and sandboxing tools.
  • Support SOAR automation and identify opportunities to improve SOC efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance to L1 analysts and handle complex escalations.
  • Maintain incident documentation, evidence, timelines, and handovers.
  • Collaborate with IT, Network, IAM, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams during security incidents.
  • Continuously improve SOC processes, monitoring coverage, and detection capabilities.

Required Skills and Technologies

  • Experience with SIEM platforms including IBM QRadar or Splunk.
  • Experience with EDR/XDR platforms including CrowdStrike Falcon or Microsoft Defender.
  • Knowledge of incident response, threat hunting, SOAR, and security automation.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Active Directory, networking, cloud, and security technologies.
  • PowerShell or Python scripting is preferred.

Experience and Qualifications

  • The role requires 3–6 years of SOC or security operations experience with L2-level responsibilities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant security certifications are preferred.
  • Candidates must be willing to work rotational 24x7 shifts.
