Position Overview
The Site Supervisor – Appointed Person supervises daily site activities and takes responsibility for safe planning, coordination, and execution of lifting operations.
The role requires competency in lifting operations, lifting plans, crane operations, rigging, risk assessment, and site safety.
The position is full-time and located in Abu Dhabi.
Site Supervision
- Supervise daily site activities according to approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors on site.
- Monitor construction progress and quality and coordinate with project managers, engineers, HSE officers, and site personnel.
- Maintain housekeeping, access, work areas, and site organization.
- Conduct daily inspections and identify safety or operational issues.
- Ensure workers follow company HSE procedures and report progress, delays, manpower needs, and site issues.
Lifting Operations
- Act as the designated Appointed Person for lifting operations when formally appointed and competent.
- Plan, coordinate, and control lifting operations according to approved procedures and project requirements.
- Prepare, review, and implement lifting plans, lift studies, risk assessments, and RAMS.
- Verify that cranes, lifting equipment, accessories, and rigging gear have valid inspection and certification.
- Establish exclusion zones and safe access around lifting areas.
- Stop lifting activities when unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or deviations from the approved plan are identified.
- Maintain lifting plans, inspections, certificates, permits, toolbox talks, and activity records.
- Coordinate complex, critical, or non-routine lifting operations with HSE and engineering teams.
- Report lifting incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and deviations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Requirements
- Experience as a Site Supervisor and Appointed Person for lifting operations.
- Demonstrated competency in lifting operations, lifting plans, crane operations, rigging, risk assessment, and site safety.
- Ability to prepare or review lifting plans, lift studies, risk assessments, and RAMS.
- Ability to verify equipment inspection and certification and maintain lifting-related records.
- Ability to coordinate site personnel, subcontractors, HSE teams, and engineering teams.
- The title identifies WMS certification associated with ADNOC work.

- Work location is in person at the site.
