The role focuses on next-generation gas turbine propulsion systems and the simulation, design, and development of gas turbine combustion systems.

Core technical areas include fluid dynamics, combustion, thermodynamics, heat transfer, turbomachinery, aerodynamics, and fuel systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced simulations for gas turbine combustion systems, including high Mach number combustion environments.
  • Apply CFD methods to combustor aerodynamic design and optimization.
  • Contribute to modules, components, subsystems, and full propulsion system development.
  • Use 1D and reduced-order tools with high-fidelity CFD for system-level analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design, analysis, and validation.
  • Support engine and component testing through pre-test prediction and post-test analysis.
  • Advance future propulsion technologies and support existing products.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in gas turbine or combustion system development.
  • Strong understanding of combustor aerodynamics and combustion fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with CFD tools and methods for gas turbine combustion systems.
  • Solid grounding in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD degree.
  • Gas turbine combustion system design and development experience.
  • Afterburner and ramjet propulsion concept development experience.
  • Familiarity with high Mach number combustion environments and scramjet technologies.
  • Experience with 1D or system-level simulation tools.
  • Exposure to engine or component testing and validation.
  • Military or defense-related combustion systems background.
