Responsibilities
- Operate heavy duty shovels (hydraulic, cable, or dragline) to excavate, load, and move large quantities of earth, rock, or other materials with precision.
- Perform pre operational checks and routine maintenance on shovel equipment, identifying and reporting any mechanical issues to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and site plans to accurately position the shovel and achieve desired excavation depths and contours.
- Safely maneuver the shovel around active work sites, adhering to traffic control plans and maintaining safe distances from other equipment and personnel.
