Position Summary
The Mechanical Shift Leader ensures production support and assigned work are completed by the shift.
The role requires strong shop-floor knowledge and leadership of a maintenance shift in a lean manufacturing environment.
Compensation
- Starting salary is $49.17 per hour.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Grade 12 education or GED is required.
- A Certificate of Qualification Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433 is required.
- At least two years of experience as a licensed millwright is required.
Shift Leadership Duties
- Assist in training trade co-op students, apprentices, and journeymen according to company policies and the Employee Charter.
- Assist with plant support, troubleshooting, repairs, and system improvements.
- Organize and coordinate maintenance employee activities so production and repairs meet company and customer quality standards.
- Ensure effective crew operation during off shifts or when the Technical Leader or Supervisor is absent.
- Perform duties in an environmentally responsible manner under the Karmax Environmental Policy.
